Jerry Robinson was raised and baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. At 16, Jerry fell into a wayward lifestyle that included drugs and alcohol and he renounced the powerless false religion that had held him in bondage throughout his whole life. "There is no worse place that you can imagine than to be a "backslidden" false cult member," Jerry recalled some years later. "I mean, not only are you in a false cult... but you are a backslidden false cult member." In this perilous state with little or no hope, Jerry turned further and further to a lifestyle of drugs and alcohol to numb the pain left from a short life full of deceptive false religion.
One year later, at the age of 17, Jerry nearly overdosed on drugs in his one-bedroom apartment. That night he recalls crying out to God, "I remember crying out to God from the very bottom of my heart. I was so deceived. I remember saying 'Lord, I don't who you are or what your name is: Jehovah, Buddha, Allah, Jesus..., but please help me.' And He did by saving me." A couple of days later, Jerry accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. Soon, Jerry slowly began to notice that he had a strong appetite to read the Bible and to attend church so that he could learn more. "His appetite for 'true' doctrine was insatiable in those early years," according to his wife Kristy. "Coming out of a false cult really challenged Jerry to not take every thing that he heard in church for granted. He wasn't content to know what the preachers believed. He wanted to know why they believed it."
Since those early years, Jerry has invested literally thousands of hours in in-depth research on Christian doctrine from Christology and Soteriology to Eschatology and Apologetics. A few years later, in 1997, Jerry began to sense God dealing with him to begin specializing in the topic of eschatology. In response, Jerry poured himself into researching every book on Bible prophecy that he could get his hands on. In the fall of 2000, Jerry began to sense that God was calling him into a very unique and special ministry. "The events that transpired on Sept. 11, 2001 really served to galvanize me in ministry," Jerry recalls. "I had such a burden to minister to people globally during that time, but I had no platform." In 2002, God provided Jerry with that global platform. In that year, JerryRobinson.org was officially launched as Jerry's ministry website. Through the site, Jerry gathered news stories from all around the world that pointed to the fact that Christ was coming back soon. He also wrote articles about the global volatility and what it meant to believers and non-believers alike. Over time, the ministry grew as readers from nearly every country began slowly logging on.
Today, the small start-up website JerryRobinson.org has turned into a full fledged international ministry with readers from all over the world. Jerry is now the founder/president of JRMI (Jerry Robinson Ministries International) and operates the ministry from Tulsa, Oklahoma. "While our ministry strategy is always evolving, our ultimate goals have not changed," Jerry stated. "Our mission at JRMI has and always will be to take the good news of Jesus Christ's First Coming to the unbeliever, and the glorious news of His Second Coming to the global church. His First Coming is what saves us, but it is His Second Coming that is our eternal hope."
Therefore, in every teaching, article, or book that JRMI publishes the aim is to challenge believers to think and thinkers to believe. "It is important to me that believers be educated in their belief systems," Jerry says. "This is because those Christians who do not know why they believe what they believe will convince no one to believe."
