Wisdom is seeking heavenly opinions of earthly circumstances. It is seeing things from God's perspective. (Proverbs 9:10,11)
There are many reasons people choose to act foolishly:

Here are six essentials for walking in wisdom
It requires a decision. You must settle it in your mind. (God's way is the right way)
'You have not because you ask not' (James 4:2)
It's not enough to just read the Bible. We must apply what we learn. We must receive the word and let it produce fruit in our lives.
Conclusion: At this present hour, our world is growing ever darker. We must do all we can to root ourselves in the Word and in the things of God. The time to do this is now.
